An off-line education tool, the SaveEnergy Desktop Widget promotes responsible computer and energy usage practices. When activated it acts like a clock and provides an updating representation of the amount of greenhouse gasses generated by the computer.
After installation the Widget requests that the user provide a few details about their system so that the accuracy of estimates can be maintained.
The Widget can be set to start at system start-up and offers a built it reminder service for those users aiming to limit their computer usage to set periods of time.
